Paying for recovery housing.

Montgomery County and Bucks County programs can pay for up to 60 days at a Sunlight men’s home. Here’s who qualifies and how to start.

Montgomery County

Montgomery County’s Office of Drug and Alcohol pays for up to 60 days at a DDAP-licensed recovery house it contracts with. Sunlight of the Spirit House is on the county’s list for men’s recovery housing.

Read the county’s rules

Ask your counselor or case manager to contact us, or call 267-436-7515 and we’ll walk you through it.

  1. Live in Montgomery County.
  2. Be coming from inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment, the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, or a homeless shelter.
  3. Move into a county-contracted house. The county covers up to 60 days.

Bucks County

The Bucks County Recovery Residence Oversight Committee (BC-ROC) offers scholarships for up to 60 days at recovery houses it has approved. Sunlight’s men’s houses are on the approved list.

Read BC-ROC’s rules

A professional at your treatment provider fills out the application with you. Call 267-436-7515 with any questions.

  1. Live in Bucks County.
  2. Be enrolled in Medical Assistance (HealthChoices, through Magellan) in Bucks County.
  3. Be referred by a professional at an accredited provider, who completes the BC-ROC application.
  4. To keep the scholarship, follow the house rules, keep up with treatment and outside meetings, and work toward a job, school, training or volunteering.

Paying your own way

Without county funding, residents pay weekly rent by Venmo or Cash App. Health insurance doesn’t usually pay recovery-house rent, because a recovery house is a home rather than treatment. Funding for our new women’s house isn’t available yet; call 610-715-5960 to talk through the options.
